Our Faith
What We Believe

We are simply Christians — members of the church that belongs to Christ. We have no creed but the Bible, no name but His. Our desire is to worship and live as the New Testament teaches, following the pattern established by Christ and His apostles.

The Bible
The Bible is the inspired, authoritative Word of God — our sole guide in all matters of faith and practice. We speak where the Bible speaks and are silent where it is silent.

The Church
Christ built one church, and He is its head. We are not a denomination but seek to be the New Testament church in the Williamsburg area — autonomous, self-governing, and united under Christ alone.

Salvation
We are saved by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ. In response to the gospel, one must hear, believe, repent, confess Jesus as Lord, and be baptized by immersion for the forgiveness of sins.

Worship
Our worship follows the New Testament pattern: acappella singing, prayers, preaching from the Scriptures, giving as we have been prospered, and observing the Lord's Supper every first day of the week.

Christian Living
We believe that following Jesus is a daily commitment. Doctrine matters, and how we live matters. We are called to love one another, grow in knowledge, and hold fast to the truth in all things.

Who We Are
A New Congregation in
the Williamsburg Area

The Chickahominy church of Christ is a new congregation being planted in the greater Williamsburg area of Virginia. We are a group of Christians who came together with a shared conviction: this region needs a faithful, sound congregation committed to New Testament Christianity.

Named for the Chickahominy River — the historic waterway that connects the communities of Providence Forge and western James City County — our congregation serves as a spiritual home for Christians across the region. Whether you're coming from Richmond, the Peninsula, or right here in Williamsburg, you are welcome.

We are not a denomination. We are not affiliated with any human institution. We are simply the church that belongs to Christ, seeking to worship and serve as He instructed in His Word. If you are looking for a congregation grounded in Scripture, you've found one.
